Find More Time! 5 Must-Have Autoship Items
Here Are My 5 Must-Have Autoship Items
1: All The Filters
Air Filters
You would sometimes find me in the aisles of Home Depot looking for air filters (in all different sizes). I was never consistent on the dates my air filters would be changed. Sometimes I forgot to track it or just could not remember how often they should be changed out (every 1-3 months was the recommendation). I could definitely hire a company to change them, but it was expensive and my house has low ceilings so it only takes a few minutes. The time consumption was actually purchasing the air filters! I would stand there searching through all the different sizes and looking at the MERV ratings (MERV stands for minimum efficiency rating value). Then I would notice that I was missing a size or 2 so I would drive to Lowes to see if it was available there; an inconsistent and sometimes complete waste of time.
Enter Second Nature! This little gem of a company saves me so much hassle and time. You open an account, select your air filters, set your schedule, and get it delivered. Check! They also offer fridge water filters but I just order mine, on autoship, directly from Kitchen Aid, the manufacturer of my fridge.
Water Filters
Water Filters were next on my list. I own a whole-house water filtration system from Aquasana. I could dive into the health benefits and importance of having a whole-house water filter, but that would take another blog post. With our water quality, we needed one, and odds are you do too. If you have one or are thinking of purchasing one, we have been very happy with Aquasana. Their filters are easy to change (without paying a plumber). We have both the whole house filters and undersink filters on autoship. It saves so much time and hassle. Bonus if you teach your kids how to change the filters.

2: High-Quality Organic Meat and Fish
Trying to find high-quality meat and seafood used to be expensive, time-consuming, and full of shopping around. I would sometimes have to drive to a couple of different stores to find high-quality meat and fresh seafood. I have been a loyal consumer of Butcher Box well before COVID-19 (when everyone tried to get a subscription). It has been my go-to monthly membership box that I look forward to receiving. Butcher Box has been around a long time, and although others have joined in to compete, the customer service and convenience are unmatched in my opinion. They offer 100% grass-fed beef, free-range organic chicken, pork-raised crate-free, and wild-caught seafood options, and some bonus items in season.
I keep everything stored in my mini freezer (we bought one during the pandemic). To prep, I just take the meat or seafood out mid-morning, defrost it in the sink, and search for recipes online. It is that simple.

3: Razors
Who remembers the Dollar Shave Club when it launched? It is a subscription-based razor and personal grooming products (mainly for men) company that was founded in 2011 and sold in 2016 for $1 billion. It was established with the goal of providing affordable and convenient shaving solutions to consumers. The trend continues with auto-shipping razors.
I use a site called Billie. They use a 5-blade razor encased in aloe moisturizer. Designed for the way women shave and as a bonus, it comes with a magnetic holder so your razor floats on your shower wall. My daughter also has a razor and a subscription. Our current subscription is 4 blades each every 3 months.
4: Toothbrush heads
A few years ago, I switched from Phillips Sonicare to Burst Oral Care. Burst is known for its sonic toothbrushes designed to provide effective and thorough oral care. Sonic toothbrushes use high-frequency vibrations to remove plaque and bacteria from teeth and gums and are effective with oral hygiene. One distinctive feature of Burst toothbrushes is the use of charcoal-infused bristles. Charcoal is believed by some to have natural whitening properties and the ability to absorb toxins. I currently have myself and one of my kids on an autoship. I like that they offer different color options (white, black, rose gold, and purple) so we don't get the toothbrushes confused. They now also offer little kids toothbrushes as well.
My daughter decided she didn't like Burst anymore so we switched her to Quip. They offer a sleek and minimalist design. So far she is happy with it.
On a side note, an autoship option for your kids will hopefully promote increased dental hygiene. Completely worth it!
5: Tampons
It took me a while to get on board with an autoship option for tampons. And guys if you are reading this, I am sure you've had to pick up some tampons for your significant other at one point. I often found myself scrambling each month to run to the store and buy "organic" tampons only to find that sometimes they were not available. Adding to it was a significant tampon shortage that started in 2022. I was in search of a high-quality, organic option for tampons. I wanted to reduce my exposure to pesticides. Organic tampons are made from cotton that is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers and no synthetic additives.
Enter Cora. Cora is a company that focuses on providing organic and sustainable feminine care products, including tampons shipped directly to your house (although you can find them in stores). Every female is different which is why you can customize your subscription based on your unique needs.
Lola is another option and what I liked about them is that they offer a first-period kit for young girls. It comes with period pads, panty liners, and plastic applicator tampons all made with organic cotton. The kit also includes a free digital guide, complete with expert tips and icebreakers, to help with the first period.
The Future of Autoship
Autoship is becoming more and more popular every single day. I must say it is cumbersome to manage several subscription sites with logins and passwords. Maybe in the future, this will all be integrated into one system. Amazon deserves an honorable mention as it has a robust and growing subscription model in place that makes autoship easy as well. We will see what the future holds.
